Creepy Campfire  Stories (for Grownups)

Bi-Annual e-Publication (CCS B-A)

Tales of Horror

Welcome to the Campfire

Dear Creepy Campers,

There are some exciting changes occurring with EMP Publishing & the CCQ. The already scheduled February 25, 2017 CCQ #5 issue will still be released as planned. There will also be one final CCQ #6, now slated for release on Sunday, August 27, 2017. However, there will be no other issues of Creepy Campfire Quarterly beyond that date. EMP Publishing would like to thank everyone who made the CCQ possible up to this point. It was a fun ride while it lasted, but now it's time to change gears and update with the times. Kindle eBook copies of the CCQ regularly outsell their paperback cousins 5:1. Ebooks are also a lot cheaper to sell, making the issues more affordable to readers. Lastly, eBooks do not require the destruction of trees. Therefore, the CCQ is "going green". The publication will also be reverting to the original title of "Creepy Campfire Stories (for Grownups)", and will be converting from its current quarterly publication schedule to a bi-annual anthology. The new CCS B-A will have one Fall issue (September/October/November) and one Spring issue (March/April/May) each year. Each issue will still feature a minimum of fourteen(14) authors, and be at least 65,000 words in length. Payment will be $0.01 per word. Submissions periods will only be open twice a year, for two month intervals: April 1 - June 1 (for the Fall issue), and October 1 - December 1 (for the Spring issue). The first open call will begin October 1, 2017, and the first CCS B-A will be released in the Spring of 2018, in Kindle format only. The new eBook issue will feature original works only, no reprints. Word count limits will be 1,500-10,000. Farewell, CCQ, and please soon welcome the new CCS B-A, and as always, best of luck to you all.
